After Robert Ferré finished laying out the labyrinth, it was our turn to go to work!
First things first. We had to raise this tree branch.
Then we had to make a final decision about materials.
How to dig out the walls?
We invited the Friends of the Deep Haven Labyrinth
to come help out.
It was a great workday, but progress was slower than we had hoped.
Since it can rain a lot in May in Minnesota we were
concerned about the paint disappearing.
Then we had to place the bricks into the trenches.
As we were laying the last brick in on Mother's Day,
May 9, 1999,
The installation was finished
