Neighborhood Blessing Labyrinth MN

From time to time I get inspired to create a labyrinth.
There are ten in our yard!
I have also created a number of canvas labyrinths.
Here are some others of every scale imaginable!
Some are temporary, some permanent, some drawn, some created from nature.
I hope that as you see them you will be inspired to create your own labyrinths!
It's not as hard as I once imagined, and it's a lot of fun!

You can create labyrinths too...

Seaweed Labyrinth Puerto Rico

Land Labyrinth: Beach Seaweed and Sand Labyrinth: Puerto Rico

This 3 circuit seaweed labyrinth was made from dried seaweed found on the beach.

St Barts Sand Labyrinth

Land Labyrinth: Temporary Beach Labyrinth (foot drag marks and sand)

Many speak of the connections between labyrinths and water.
I too, feel them.
I used my foot to draw out this seven circuit labyrinth.
A man came by, walked it, and sat down in the center.

Drawn Labyrinths: For Use with Eyes, Fingers or As Models
Quilt Square Labyrinth

Drawn Labyrinth: Quilt Square Chartres-Style Marker Labyrinth

This labyrinth drawing was made for a right-of-passage quilt for a beloved niece.
Each relative was asked to create one square for her.

Body Labyrinth on Paper

Doodle Labyrinth

I like to doodle my labyrinth ideas.
This was a draft for a canvas labyrinth I want to entitle
"Head and Heart Connection Labyrinth."

Leaf Labyrinth

Leaf Labyrinths (Various Materials)

No paper near by? Try putting a labyrinth on a leaf!
I made the one on the left with my pen and the one on the right with sparkle glue and a feather.

Hand Labyrinth Drawn with Colored Pencils

Colored Pencil Hand Labyrinth

When meetings get a bit long, I begin to color.
On the day I created this labyrinth, I placed my hand on the paper, traced it,
and then wondered if I could imagine a labyrinth in it.

4 Circuit Drawn Labyrinth

Pathway Mandala Labyrinth

When drawing labyrinths I often prefer focusing on the pathway
more than the dividers.

Small-scale Labyrinths Built for Personal or Group Prayer

Red Hots and Penny 5 circuit labyrinth

Red Hot Candy & Penny 4 Circuit Labyrinth

When learning new labyrinth patterns, I work with what is around.
On this day, I was trying to understand the seed pattern
of the labyrinth found on the Nasca Plain in Peru.
I used red hot candies to mark out the star seed and the corresponding dots.
I used pennies to connect the pattern.

Shell Temporary Labyrinth

Temporary Shell Prayer Labyrinth Constructed In Response to the 2004 Tsunami in Asia

This 3 circuit labyrinth was created and walked and dismantled as part of a day-long retreat.
I collected the shells on a trip to Florida
and keep them in a large basket which can easily be transported.

Flaming Labyrinth

Flaming Match Labyrinth

I like to make labyrinths from things we have around the house.
A prayer retreat group make this two circuit spiral-centered labyrinth in our sandbox.
We loved watching it burn.
